But despite discussing deep questions, there is still an optimistic approach to the world in which we live. The films, each in its own way, question who we are as human beings and where is our dignity while lost in a lonely society. It is also a place were authors reflect on the issues that concern them: sex, gender, social machismo, immigration, faith, the refugee’s crisis, teenage awakening, the use of the mobile phone and social networks,… Short films are a forgery for new talents but also a place were established directors can experiment. It also includes young and established directors and young and established producers. This year the selection represents both film schools and independent productions.
